topics in history

there are many topics that i find interesting about the history of childhood. i have starterd to do my reseach on multiracial childern. I think that this topic will be two difficult to research because of the lack of sources that are definitly pertaining to mixed race kids. Antoher topic that i find interesting is social class. With this topic i could use the book as a jumping off point. i start my reseach there. Another topic could be the development of the adolence stage. for this topic i could aslo use the books as a jumping off point. Another topic that would be interesting would be the development of childern as a consumer class. this would be hard and probebly not doabl in the time allowed. gender roles would aslo be interesting. the boy vs. the girl role could be an interesting compare and contrast. there would probebly be plenty of info for that. i would aslo like to focus on american issues and think that that would be a good place to find documents. i thought about doing someype of colonial research but i think there would not be alot of info. kids in the frontier, kids in the revolution, kids in the gold rush. i think i would have problems researching these topics becuase of the lack of imformation. finally, the transcontentintial railraod is one topic in us history that is very interesting to me. to apply the railroad to childerns history would be very difficult. i bet---without doing any research--that the are few kids in this aspect of history. it was very lobor intensive and was porformed by the chinese many of which did not have any childern with them or women to have kids with. these are all possible topics and need some time to narrow myself down. Peoples topics such as immigration. militarybrats are good i just hope that there is no lack of sources--perhaps we will all need to think out side the box to find good, concret sources.
